So off i went again to London Fashion Week, the glamorous, the stylish and the hipsters were all out in packs as per usual & AW16 did not disappoint! This time around i took fashion student & guest blogger - Claudia Whitaker, this was her first LFW & watching her take it all in was a great experience for me.
My favourite collection that we saw was the debut of Sid Neigum, he chose a night time presentation to display his beautiful blacks & neutrals in a collab with DHL Exported. Taking inspiration from 'La Corbusier' who harnessed proportions of the human body to perfect his architectural works, codifying this system in his landmark tome 'The Modular'. Which is where mathematics & underlying principles of The Modulor came into play for this wonderful AW16 collection.
Sid produces all his designs in Toronto using technology & premium Italian fabrics to harness the highest of qualities. What was most exciting for me was that all his pieces were very wearable whilst still being stand out & chic.
He kept the models in nude makeup & fluffed top knots to keep the attention on the clothes which worked well with the colours and concepts around. Over all the night was a huge success, one that i kept bringing up with other writers and bloggers at any opportunity!
